Skadarska street, about 500 meters in length, is located in the strictest center of Belgrade. Due to the proximity of the National Theater, there were many actors who lived in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Other actors, poets, writers, painters came to act with actors.
It is known that the actors (probably because of the sting) do not eat anything before the show. The opportunity for something to muddle, and drink, is just after the show, when the tension falls and it is nearing midnight. Because of this, many taverns, some of the oldest in Belgrade, were nicknamed in Skadarlija. It was there that the dawn was welcomed by artists who entered the history of Serbian culture: Đura Jakšić, Danilo Danilović, Dobrica Milutinović and Čiča Ilija Stanojević ...
The Scandal was poorly illuminated, paved with cobblestone, as it was customary in the Turkish era. This old-fashioned look is retained even today, only the space between stones is filled with concrete.
