The building of the House of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia is the building at the beginning of the Boulevard of King Alexander in Belgrade. The Federal Assembly is known from the time of the SFRY, although in the meantime the Assembly of the state union of SCG became a member and on 23 July 2006 it became the official seat of the National Assembly of Serbia.
The foundation stone was laid by King Petar I Karađorđević in 1907, and the building was designed by architect Jovan Ilkić.
The House of the National Assembly is a monumental Belgrade building built in the area bordered by Kosovo Street, Takovsko, Trg Nikole Pašića and Vlajkovićeva, and close to the Old, the New Palace and the Garden Garden (today Pionirski Park), with which it forms a unique architectural and functional whole. This building was built from 1907 to 1936. Its construction, with interruptions with changes in the project and with the participation of Serbian architects of the first half of the 20th century, reflects the burning history of the Serbian, then the Yugoslav state and its parliamentary life.
