The memorial museum of Ivo Andrić is part of the Belgrade City Museum and was opened in 1976 in an apartment on Andrićev venac 8, in which the writer lived with his wife Milica Babić since 1958. The museum is maintained by the Ivo Andrić Foundation.
The authentic layout and appearance of the entrance hall, the salon and the Andrić's study room are preserved, and the former two bedrooms have been redesigned into an exhibition space where a permanent exhibition is opened, which represents Andrić's life path and the marking points of his creative biography by various exhibits. In addition to representative documents (indexes, passports, plaques, diplomas, Nobel Prize and Medal, Vuk's Prize, Honorary PhDs) and photographs, in the exhibition setting, you can see the original manuscripts of Andric's works, letters, editions of his books in various languages, hats personal items.
Andrić's personal library, which is mostly located in the working cabinet, contains 4502 books, is museologically processed and described bibliographically. The work of transferring Andric's marginal and e-mailing is in progress. This material is entered into the database and it will be possible to search according to different criteria.
