Lido Beach is located on the northern tip of the Great War Island on the Danube. It is a small, sandy beach, which includes only a small part of the island, because even the Great War Island is protected by law and urbanization is not allowed.
The beach was named after Lid from Venice, and was originally developed as a wild beach, which is an alternative to the much more popular and official beach and the Adi Ciganliji Park. Despite being very popular primarily among inhabitants of Zemun and New Belgrade, she has never managed to approach Ada Ciganlija in popularity. The beach is small, unattended and almost without any accommodation, except for several restaurants. By the beginning of the 2000s, the beach could only be reached by boat. Since 2000, every year, the Serbian army has set up a pontoon bridge, which reaches the beach. The organization of the EHO festival held in the island in early 2003 was catastrophic due to bad weather and financial misconduct by the organizers.
