Hippodrome Belgrade or Hipodrom near Careva Cuprija is the oldest sports facility in Belgrade.
By King Alexander's decree of November 15, 1920, the state-owned land for free lease for the period of 75 years was transferred to the Danube River Rider "Knez Mihajlo". In 1921, the first gallop derby and the first race of the city of Belgrade were held, which have since become traditional. In September 1930, the first racing car races were held.
By the Decree of the Ministerial Council of September 3, 1934, the same land was issued to the Danube rider's rider for a period of 75 years, with a fee of 1 dinars a year, and the management of the hippodrome was taken away in 1949, after nationalization. The track is then named "Hippodrome Belgrade". On several occasions, the company changed its legal status and activity, in order to finally change the form of organization in JP "Hippodrome Belgrade" at the decision of the Belgrade City Assembly on 29 February 2008.
