The Archives of Serbia is an institution that preserves and protects the archival material created by the work of state organs and institutions of Serbia until the end of 1918, archival material from the period of World War II and post-war period, as well as personal and family funds and collections.
The building of the State Archives was built in 1928 according to the project of architect Nikolai Krasnov, a Russian emigrant, employed in the architectural department of the Ministry of Construction of the Kingdom of SHS / Yugoslavia. It was erected as a one-time monumental building, basically executed in the form of the reversed letter "T", with the main transversal tract facing Karnegieva Street, and longitudinal to the courtyard side. In the main, transversal wing of the building, Krasnov accommodated the working and administrative premises, while the longitudinal part of the building, devoted to the backyard, devotedly devoted to its depots.
